Sunday Was A Fun Day

On Sunday Kevin, Amy, and the kids came over to visit. Out of the blue Kevin asked if we would like to move the dryer out of the kitchen so that we could have more room. Of course we took him up on it. The dryer is now in the freezer room and the kitchen has much more room. Kevin switched everything over and it went without a hitch. I can't believe how much more room we have just because the dryer is gone. He said he would do the same with the washer but not right now. It would take too much time and it would require a whole lot more work. Eventually the washer will be in the freezer room too. Actually, when mom and daddy bought this house the washer and dryer were in the garage. So there are water pipes back there somewhere.

Amy had to take Kyle home for his nap so we let Cortnie stay here and she went home with her daddy. It was a very fun day and Cortnie provided that fun. Her dog and lion cub are her children. She isn't into dolls like most little girls, she is into animals. She has nursed her lion cub at home and here. She likes someone to come and sit with her when she nurses so she can chat. Last week she had a nightmare and she drew pictures about it on Sunday and explained them to me. "Dude" is a halloween doll that Amy has, long arms, legs and a square body so that he can sit. At first Cortnie liked Dude but not anymore. Now he scares her. Dude was chasing her down the stairs and growling at her and she was terrified. I am posting the pictures here that she drew. The first one her protectors are two of her favorite dinosaurs and in the other one her husband is protecting her. Someone once asked her who the father was to her children and she said a Polar Bear and he was her husband and in the picture (he looks like a rat) but he is a polar bear. Now he too is a protector.

Because she was here with us she had to call home on her make-believe phone to talk to Rocky because he was baby-sitting Simba. She wanted to make sure that Rocky was taking good care of Simba. Quite the little conversation she had with Rocky. She told him she would be home soon but he was to feed Simba. She then said, "Rocky you are lying to me, no I don't believe you, you are lying!" She looked at us and said he hung up on her. She called him back and then talked to him about lying and said okay I believe you, and I will be home soon. At other times they have been sick and keep her up at night because of coughing etc and she gets so tired. She is so much fun. I have enclosed a picture of Cortnie with her Simba and Sophie is holding her own little Rocky which is the dog that Cortnie also has and they are holding Sadie's bear. These are the animals that Cortnie loves.

SUSAN

Today we mourn the loss of our wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandma, and aunt. Two years ago today SueSanne left our lifes to begin her new journey. Although we rejoice with her in this new life we mourn the loss of her in this one. She was so very special to each one of us. We all have our own special memories of her and the things we did together. One of mine is the camping trip we took to Bear Lake. It was August of 1984 and it was just the four of us. Sue and Johnny and Floyd and I. We were there for four days and had a wonderful time. That camping trip was the best I ever had. Sue and I played pioneer women and had so much fun doing it. We washed our towels and rags in cold water and soap and hung them on heavy string that we had strung up from two tree's. Washed our hair in cold water from a water fountain that was there and froze our scalps. Talk about fun, we most certainly had that. We spent hours in the lake and both of us paid a price for that. Sue got so badly burned on her back that she had to go in for it and I suffered heat exhaustion. I wouldn't change it though. The fun we had goes beyond any discomfort we suffered.

Susan, I miss you so much and as much as I would love to have you back here I would never do that if I could. I know that you are much happier, cancer free, pain free, and so many other wonderful things that only we will know when we join you. Know that you are not forgotten and your memories will live on in each of us as long as we live. I love you Sue!!
